We believe that animals need exercise, fresh air and plenty of pasture to be happy and healthy. All our animals are free of growth hormones, antibiotics, disease and injected flavor.
The benefits of this model of farming produces animals
with more vitamin E, a better balance of the essential fatty acids,
less fat and a full rich flavor and texture. By keeping an eye on the
big picture, we balance our farming techniques to use the animals to
benefit and repair the land rather than overwhelming and destroying it.
We rotate and move our livestock and keep their density low so they are
adding nutrients to the soil rather than wearing it out. The pigs and
goats clear and fertilize the fields naturally and guineas and
chickens follow the goats and keep pests such as ticks, flies and
parasites to a minimum. Animals that move about, interact with each other and with us and are
part of a holistic approach to farming, health, nutrition and the
environment.
